Shantel’s Story: Working Toward a Dream
For the past 20 years, Shantel has been supported by Home and Community Options, where she has continued to build skills, pursue her interests, and work toward her goals. A lifelong Winona resident, she attended Winona Senior High School and grew up with her mom, two sisters, three nephews, one niece, two uncles, grandma, and two cats. Today, family remains an important part of her life, along with her friends, roommates, and support staff. Working at ORC is an important part of Shantel’s week. Three days a week, she assists with a variety of different jobs and enjoys being part of the team. Her strong sense of routine helps her prepare for each day.
