Here are just a few of the many different ways you can help make a difference with HCO:
One on One Outings (drive people who receive services to and from and stay for duration: direct contact with people who receive services)
- Medical appointments
- Appointments for personal necessities (hair cuts, etc)
- Shopping trips
- Social events (GRSF, Bowling,summer concerts in the park, Steamboat days, etc)
- one on one trips (library, out for ice cream, walks, trip to a park, church, etc)
In Home Experiences (connect with residents in home on a consistent basis: direct contact with people who receive services)
- Board Games, Bingo, etc.
- Crafts
- Crochet
- Book group
- Puzzles
- Watch a TV show together or facilitate movie night
- Light cleaning
- Assist residents with their own personal cleaning, laundry, etc.
- Zoom events with other programs
Volunteer to assist a particular program (indirect contact with people who receive services)
- Make meals for the same program periodically (become familiar with dietary needs of the entire home)
- Clean/Straighten up
- Gardening
- Mow Lawn/Shovel Snow
- Grocery/Other Shopping
- Laundry
- Physical jobs (moving boxes, etc.)
- Light/simple house repairs/upkeep
- Caring for program vehicle (vacuuming interior, keeping tank full, etc)
- Cleaning the Saehler program regularly
Help the Main Office
- Prepare mailings
- Make phone calls
- Clean
