Here are just a few of the many different ways you can help make a difference with HCO:

One on One Outings
   (drive people who receive services to and from and stay for duration: direct contact with people who receive services)

  • Medical appointments
  • Appointments for personal necessities (hair cuts, etc)
  • Shopping trips
  • Social events (GRSF, Bowling,summer concerts in the park, Steamboat days, etc)
  • one on one trips (library, out for ice cream, walks, trip to a park, church, etc)

In Home Experiences
   (connect with residents in home on a consistent basis: direct contact with people who receive services)

  • Board Games, Bingo, etc.
  • Crafts
  • Crochet
  • Book group
  • Puzzles
  • Watch a TV show together or facilitate movie night
  • Light cleaning
  • Assist residents with their own personal cleaning, laundry, etc.
  • Zoom events with other programs

Volunteer to assist a particular program
   (indirect contact with people who receive services)

  • Make meals for the same program periodically (become familiar with dietary needs of the entire home)
  • Clean/Straighten up
  • Gardening
  • Mow Lawn/Shovel Snow
  • Grocery/Other Shopping
  • Laundry
  • Physical jobs (moving boxes, etc.)
  • Light/simple house repairs/upkeep
  • Caring for program vehicle (vacuuming interior, keeping tank full, etc)
  • Cleaning the Saehler program regularly
