Health Services Director, Nicole Weydt, recently sat down with KWNO to talk about about her experience joining Home and Community Options, ways that health care can impact how we support people with disabilities, and shared about some future health-based initiatives being developed by HCO.

“Many of the people that came into our agency to receive support services are still with us so they’re aging,” says HCO Health Services Director, Nicole Weydt. The challenges people with disabilities face as they age aren’t unique, just sometimes more pronounced. Among the new initiatives is designing individualized exercise programs to help people get stronger to avoid falls. “It’s a really unique way we can make a significant impact that’s low cost and non-pharmacologic to really improve the lives of people we serve,” says Weydt.
