Mary Stoltman has been in the banking industry for over 29 years, with the last 13 years being devoted to WNB Financial as their Private Banking Officer. She grew up in Stewartville, Minnesota, which she lovingly refers to as “Small Town, USA”. She came to Winona to attend Winona State University, and, like so many alums, stayed in the Winona community.

Knowing Mary’s love of acting and theater, a friend suggested that she try out for HCO’s annual musical in 2012. That year, HCO was presenting “The Sound of Music.” Mary thought it might be fun and that it would be a good way to support a local non-profit. She says she knew just a “wee bit” about HCO’s mission at the time.

“Little did I know,” she says, “that this experience would introduce me to so much more than I could ever imagine.  I immediately fell in love with the people tied to the organization at all levels ‑‑ employees, volunteers, and the people they serve ‑‑ and their individual passions.”

She has continued to support HCO’s annual musical with her talents and time, and now serves on the Board of Directors as well. She joined the Board in 2020, bringing her knowledge of banking to a diverse group of people dedicated to the success of HCO. She is a staunch supporter of the organization and says she admires the many ways HCO serves our community, providing support with such care, humility, and selfless dedication.

She knows that HCO is continually searching for ways to improve upon an already solid foundation in order to continue the important work it provides to our community, and the people and families it serves. “Without HCO,” she says, “numerous vulnerable individuals might simply fall through the cracks of society without ever realizing their true potential and gifts to be shared.”

Mary feels that HCO has been blessed with dedicated, caring, and compassionate staff. “Each one of you makes a positive impact on the friends we serve within our community, especially during some extremely trying times.  I have a genuine respect for all that you continue to do!”

Mary has two adult children, a son, Aaron, who lives in Minneapolis, and a daughter, Hannah, in La Crosse. In addition to the HCO Board, she is also on the Board of Directors of the Winona County Historical Society and on their Events Committee. She also serves as Finance Treasurer at her church, Wesley United Methodist.
