Legislative decisions being made right now will have a direct impact on individuals with developmental disabilities—and on the critical services HCO provides to support them. If you haven’t been following the latest updates, now is the time to start. Staying informed isn’t just important—it’s essential to protecting and strengthening the supports your loved ones rely on.

Last week was the final committee deadline at the legislature. Both the Senate and House passed their Human Services omnibus spending bills out of committee. In the House, leaders clarified that the proposed inflationary cap is intended to be 4% annually and 8% per biennium. The legislature is now on break until April 22, after which floor debates will begin.

We encourage you to stay engaged and speak up. Together, our voices can help ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities continue to receive the respect, resources, and care they deserve.
