A job transition for my husband brought my family to Winona, MN in 2007. I am originally from a small town in Montana, and I love mountains, wide open spaces, and being connected to the land. Being with nature and listening to the earth stabilizes and energizes me. I am married to my best friend and high school sweetheart, Matt St. Onge. We have two children, Wyatt and Aly. We also have a sweet dog, a mini-schnauzer named, Khloe.
I have been a registered nurse for 25 years and have worked in a variety of settings from nursing education, to hospitals, to private homes. Home care settings are my favorite settings for offering nursing care services as healthcare can be offered in a manner that is truly individualized for every person served. As a nurse, I enjoy having ample time to interact with and learn about those I serve, and I find joy in building relationships with individuals and their care-givers over time. I feel that being a nurse is a spiritual calling in my life and I have coupled this calling with my faith life.
I am a Deaconess in the United Methodist Church. In this role, I focus on trauma-informed ministry for social healing that promotes a true sense of belonging in community for all people. All this being said, I think it is obvious why I am absolutely delighted to be working for HCO. I am extremely grateful and excited for this opportunity!
I am continually amazed by the work, dedication, and compassion of HCO’s staff. I am learning every day in my work at HCO, and I am thankful for the expertise and support the staff as we work together to ensure the individuals we serve have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
I have fallen in love with the individuals served by HCO. Throughout my nursing career, I have found that those that I serve are my greatest teachers. I am humbled to be working with and supporting those with impairments within our community. Each day, their love, courage, and optimism inspires me. It is a true privilege to be a part of their lives.
Nicole began working part-time at HCO in June of 2022.
She transitioned to the role of Director of Health Services in January of this year, and we are thrilled to have her with us!
