HCO is seeking a Finance Director looking to make a positive impact on the lives of others by joining our dedicated team. As the Finance Director, you will work directly with the Executive Director and partner with the management team and Board of Directors to develop and execute financial strategies. You’ll play a key role in driving the organization’s financial health, ensuring sustainability, and managing a talented finance team.       • Hours dependent on Agency needs

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
    • Oversee the business office, including budgeting, forecasting, audits, and financial reporting.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and management team on strategic planning and financial decision-making.
    • Supervise and mentor business office personnel, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
    • Provide financial training and consultation to program managers and staff.
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports to the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.
    • Play a key role in long-term planning for organizational growth and stability.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of nonprofit accounting experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
    • Strong understanding of nonprofit financial regulations and funding streams.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and must have the ability to learn systems specific to the industry.
    • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license.
    • Passion for building inclusive communities and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Requires full range of communication and organizational skills.
    • Physical abilities required to perform computer skills and operate office equipment.
    • Be adequately mobile to visit program sites and navigate about the grounds.
    • Have adequate communication skills to effectively interact with staff, vendors and the public.
    • Be able to manage multiple and diverse tasks in a complex human service model.
    • Be able to drive for the agency.
