Julia has been with HCO’s 502 program since September of 2022, finding deep fulfillment and purpose in her role. She loves creating a safe, caring environment for the individuals she supports. HCO has not only changed her life but has also provided a platform for her to share her natural artistic talents with her colleagues and those she serves.

From a young age, Julia has had a love for drawing, sparked during elementary school art classes. She describes art as a very intuitive and intimate way of expressing oneself. When someone she cares about goes through a tough time, like losing someone they love, Julia empathizes deeply and wants to show she cares by sharing her artwork.  Her drawings mean a lot to people, becoming treasured keepsakes that bring comfort and memories.

The joy and gratitude expressed by individuals upon receiving these portraits often lead to heartfelt conversations about their memories and emotions.  Julia loves seeing the people she supports look at their drawings every day. It brings her happiness both as a caregiver and as an artist. Seeing how her art touches people’s lives fills her with satisfaction.

Beyond creating art for others, Julia finds personal comfort and satisfaction in drawing. For her, art is not only a creative process but also a therapeutic outlet that brings peace of mind and a sense of accomplishment with each completed piece.

Through her art, Julia has touched many lives and found peace herself. Art is her favorite way to communicate, and she hopes to turn it into a career one day. It is truly a gift to see how her artwork brings smiles to those she supports.
