Harley is from Winona, MN. When she first applied at HCO, she did not know what to expect and quickly found that working in this field was her passion. She started working at HCO in the fall of 2013 as a Direct Support Trainee at the 405 program and was promoted to a Program Assistant at that program in November of 2014. She left the agency for a short time and returned back to HCO in May of 2018, working part-time at the 405 and 142 programs. She was promoted to a Primary Counselor position in the 66 Support Services program.
She enjoys the family aspect of the agency and that everyone is welcoming and supportive of one another. She loves that the individuals are encouraged to be as independent as possible and that the staff are alongside of them for any support that they may need. Harley feels that the agency truly puts the individuals first and goes above and beyond to ensure they have success in their daily lives.
Harley has made many friends with individuals as well as coworkers and has learned a lot about herself while working here. She is thankful for her experiences and the knowledge she has gained through working at HCO because it has made her the person she is today. In her new role, she is excited to work closely with her new team and the new individuals she will be supporting and building relationships. She is also looking forward to learning a new position and support services as she has previously only provided support in residential settings at HCO.
She recently bought a house with her significant other, Shane, which has been a great experience for her. She loves being able to make their house a home and getting to host and prepare food for family and friends. She has two dogs, Fiona and Jax, which she treats as her babies. She also is currently starting her last year of college at Winona State University and will be graduating in December.
Outside of work, Harley enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, being on the river, going on motorcycle rides, working on her house, and enjoying quiet nights at home with her dogs and Shane. She also loves to travel and experiencing small getaways with her friends and family.
